  A recent report by Makovsky/ Kelton fifth annual “Pulse of Online Health” survey found that sixty-six percent of Americans would like to use some kind of mobile health (mHealth) app for their health-related problems. FDA won’t regulate mHealth Apps, issues final guidelines

  The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) issued the final guidelines for mHealth apps earlier this month. FDA in its guidelines stated that it will not regulate mHealth apps that do not pose any threat to users upon failing. However, the agency also stated that apps which pose threat to users include software that would “transform a mobile platform into a regulated medical device by using attachments, display screens, sensors or other such methods”.
